Set up your first capture schedule

Four steps, roughly five minutes. By the end, Screenshot Log will be taking timestamped soundings of the pages you choose.

  1. Install and activate

    From your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New, upload the Screenshot Log zip, and activate it. A WhaleSoft.net menu appears in the left sidebar if it isn't already there from another JSM plugin.

    Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → jsm-screenshot-log.zip

  2. Choose which pages to capture

    Open WhaleSoft.net → Screenshot Log and add the pages you want tracked. Start with the ones that change often or matter most — a homepage, a pricing page, a landing page tied to a campaign.

  3. Set your interval and retention

    Pick how often each page is captured and how long captures are kept. A busy page might warrant a 6-hour interval; a stable one might only need a daily capture.

    Settings → Screenshot Log → Interval: every 6h · Retention: 90 days

  4. Check the log

    After the first scheduled run, open the capture log to confirm screenshots are landing on schedule. Each entry shows the page, the timestamp, and a thumbnail you can open full-size.

Common questions

Captures run on WordPress's scheduling system, so the first one may take up to an hour after setup, depending on site traffic.
Only pages you've explicitly added are captured. Add more from WhaleSoft.net → Screenshot Log → Add Page.
